|

I am a long time Tassimo user. I have a Braun machine which I am about to replace. I am considering the new Bosch machine or a Kuerig machine. I like coffees on the Tassimo, but with it being a closed system, there really are not many offerings, compared to the Keurig.
I know people have asked this before, and I did a search and saw some comments, but I want to know if any others have switched from the Tassimo to the Kuerig and if your happy you made the switch or wish you still had the Tassimo. At my office, I am in a building today that has a a Keurig machine and just had a cup of the Vermont country blend which was wonderful.

The Keurig is a fantastic machine. I have the B66 and I just love it. I've had it for about a year now with no problems. Like you've noticed there is a wide variety of coffee available. I don't have a Tassimo but I tried some Nabob coffee from the machine and it was okay. But I've only tried the one kind so I really can't fairly compare the two. You might want to also consider a pod machine. I just recently purchased a Bunn My Cafe and it's my favourite of all the different brewers that I've had. Plus there is more pods available than k-cups. _________________ Keurig B66

Figured this would be a good time to post for the first time after lurking for ages! I switched to a Keurig Breville about a year ago after owning a Tassimo (original) since it first came out. I would never look back now!
With my Tassimo, I had many issues with the pressure of the pump and often needed to do the vinegar clean to get it cleaned out. However, it finally got to the point that the pressure was constant - even after cleaning. Additionally, I had leaks and other issues that made the Tassimo become a headache. I absolutely LOVE the Breville and it works like brand new a year later. The coffee selection is awesome for k-cups compared to t-disks. I believe that the Breville makes a better cup of cocoa and tea then the Tassimo did as well. The only thing I miss is being able to make the occassional latte or cappucino with the Tassimo - it did that well. However, I am much more a "black" coffee drinker and prefer the selection of coffees availble much than I enjoyed a once-a-month latte fix. |

My favorite t-discs are Jacobs and Kenco, and more recently Nabob That was really the only coffees I drank. I was not crazy about the Starbucks ones.
My wife is not a big coffee drinker, she does drink sometimes but didnt like any of the ones I bought.
With the few k-cups I have tried I think there will be something she would like to drink too.
Thanks for the info. |

I have never tried a Tassimo so can't compare. But I can tell you this -- I have had a keurig for more than 3 years now and I still absolutely love it. I have had some issues and needed warranty replacements and the issues were always handled to my complete satisfaction, unlike some of the horror stories I have read about with Tassimo -- Keurig customer service has consistently exceeded my expectations. Several family members went out and got Keurigs after trying ours and falling in love with it -- all of them still love it, and I don't think any of them had the machine issues that I did.
I have found many k-cups that I like, and several that I love. My husband was never a coffee drinker before and has since gotten hooked on it. Given that you have already tried coffee from it that you enjoyed, I would say that it would be a pretty safe bet for you. Would you be even happier with a pod machine as Starryeyes suggests? Quite possibly, I can't say. But I have never had reason to wish I had anything else. |

| I just switched to Keurig about at week ago...bought the B77 package from BJ's (a modified B70 bundled with 72 k-cups). I had been reading and researching single serve machines for a few weeks. I decided on Keurig because of the variety of coffees offered and the build quality of the machine. So far, it works like a charm. I'm really impressed with how fast it heats the water! My wife and I love the convenience and the fact that we can both enjoy coffee the way we like it at different times of the day. We both drink decaf, mild for her, bold for me so I was happy to see Keurig offer of 2 free k-cup boxes with the purchase of 2. I ordered a variety of decaf and it was at my door in a couple of days. I also bought the permanent filter so I could use my own coffee. It works but I'm having so much fun tasting the different k-cups offered, I might not go back to my usual supermarket can. As for the cafinated coffees that came with the machine, we'll serve them to guests and I might have an occasional cup of "real" coffee. The Keurig makes a great cup quickly, without the mess and everyone can have a different brew. What's not to love? |

| This is my first single serve machine. My old machine was a Black & Decker drip coffee maker. I bought it years ago because it had a thermal carafe which helped to keep the coffee hot but it was very hard to clean. Now that my wife and I are on different schedules, even the thermal carafe couldn't keep the coffee hot long enough. And I'm sure I don't have to tell anyone on this forum about the taste of coffee that's been sitting around for a while! |

I first tried the Tassimo. For my taste, the coffees brewed bitter and strong. The caps made my stomach hurt.
Returned it for a Keurig B60, never looked back. Bonded immediately. The fun is trying all the different K-cups available. I logged all my findings to keep track. I do like a Light-Medium roast, smooth, fresh, non-bitter cup mixed with 1/2 and 1/2 (cream), and I think the Keurig is more the machine that makes that type of coffee.

Well its been a couple of years since I had coffee from a Keurig but I thought the coffee was watery or weak compared to my tassimo coffee. |

I got the very first Tassimo back in 2005, I think it was. Loved it, at first, but as time went on (even after replacing my old one with a new Bosch last Christmas), it seemed I had to make a special trip to Bed Bath & Beyond just to get some decent coffee (read: not Maxwell House). I know it sounds pretty petty, but all I ever found at Target (where I shop regularly, due to the pharmacy) was MH, MH Morning Brew, and Seattle's Best, then Starbucks T-discs appeared, tho you get less per bag and they cost more. Then Target quit selling the Morning Brew. Then they quit selling Seattle's Best. Seeing a pattern here?
Plus, I'm more of a straight coffee guy, not really that much into capps or lattes, etc. That's why a Keurig is a better choice for me personally. Plus the sheer number of vendors for Keurig cannot - and, in my opinion, will not - ever be matched by Tassimo. Tassimo is incredibly slow to put any new product out for their brewer, and their customer service is the absolute worst I've ever encountered...don't get me started on that.
I got my Keurig Tuesday and am in love with it. I asked it to marry me, but it refused. It's such a wonderful thing to actually have coffee I can taste.
This is ONLY MY OPINION, but I have a strong hunch - and I could be wrong - that Tassimo has another 2 years tops before they call it quits.
Just my 2 cents. |

| I switched from a drip coffee maker to a B77 and for me it was the right change. I drink my coffee black and unsweetened (bad habit from the Marines) and like a kick in the teeth that I was not getting from the drip machine. My wife loves the machine also after she adds her sugar and creamer. Every family needs to decide which machine is good for them. Good luck on your choice. |
