With all the talk of t-sacs for the bunn that i could never get to work until I found that my grinder just wouldnt grind fine enough..well this got me thinking. I got some more coffee and ground it at the store on the fine setting, just a click or two up from espresso and dug the my-kcup out of the drawer. I filled to just below the top of the screen. This was approx 11grams (based on educated guess). Turns out this was an excellent cup. This even left a little sludge reminiscient of my french press. Wow this will get more use now. _________________ Hi, Im Mike and I have an addiction...

Thanks for the post Mike! I haven't bought a My K-cup. It seemed to me like no one ever got their desired coffee results with it. With your good results, I think I might have to go buy one today! _________________ OPOD & Romeo |

I had some Newman's coffee bean's left from before purchasing my Keurig, so I just ground them up in my grinder and used the My K-Cup filter I purchased and I had a great cup of coffee!!! So if you have that cute little K-Cup filter, don't hestitate to use it. _________________ Keurig B70

I've liked mine since I got it. Makes a great cup of Kona!
The grind really does change the coffee. _________________ Pete (Jolly) -

I think you can get a decent cup from the My K-cup. If only it was made a little deeper and could hold more coffee. _________________ Scott

It's tempermental. I screwed around with it a few times, and it seems a fine line between not enough and too much, which both will get you a weak cup of coffee, or maybe a cup of water and a filter full of barely-wet grounds.
If there's a trick to it that works, I'd like to hear it. _________________ Cafe My Bunn! ~~ Keurig B40 ~~ KitchenAid Compact 4-Cup Coffeemaker ~~ Keurig B30 |

| I think the key is using a finer grind (e.g., one or two notches finer than autodrip), being sure not to pack the grounds when adding to the filter, and filling it just under the top of the mesh. |

The most important rule is that a lot of coffee, makes the water channel through the center and practially nothing is extracted.
Use less coffee and you will get better results.

This is the method I have used, too, and it seems to work fine. Filling just under the top gives me the best cup. |
