I was just on the Playfair Coffee site (EBAY store) and noticed they now carry the Higgins & Burke 9.5 gram coffee pods.18 pods per pack.
The Higgins & Burke "Roast Meter" rates this coffeeon a scale of 1 to 7, with a 7 being the darkest.
Here is what they have:
Passage to Colombia.......... Rated 5
Your trek through the Colombian mountainside is about to begin. Experience Colombia with every sip of this premium, medium-bodied 100% Colombian coffee.
Midnight Mirage.......... Rated 6
Romance your palate with the seductive rich, dark taste of midnight. This hearty, dark roast with deep full-bodied flavour and enticing aroma will satisfy your darkest desires.
Black Pearl .......... Rated 7
Only for the dark roast enthusiast. This dark treasure entices the extreme dark roast coffee lover. A pearl of premium 100% Arabica coffee, this precious blend has been roasted to achieve "dark perfection."
1912 Signature Blend.......... Rated 3
The coffee which has mastered the art of relaxation. Stop, sit back and enjoy this coffee moment with our finely crafted signature blend of Central and South American coffees. Savour this distinctive, silky smooth blend with the intense aroma which bears our signature.
Colombia Decaf.......... Rated 4
Engage your senses with a trek through the Colombian mountainside. This naturally decaffeinated, premium grade, 100% Colombian coffee sings with finely balanced flavour and aroma.
Vanilla Concerto .......... Rated 3
Symphony of smooth, sweet, creamy vanilla notes, this delectable coffee invites you to breathe deeply and immerse your senses in a sweet memory of a musical masterpiece. Like a Bach concerto, our vanilla blend will leave you craving more!

Has anyone tried these?
Sounds like a couple more dark roasts for all you dark roast lovers.

I'm not sure my opinion will help much...I either like a coffee ..or I don't..there is no 'in between' Smile
I like the playfair 'Distinctively Yours' coffee and I just ordered my usual Cafe Roast and Costa Rican Tarrazu and figured I'd try some of the Higgins and Burke sleeves.
The two I tried were both quite good...they're a few cents more than the Distinctively Yours but I think it's worth the extra pennies.
The '1912 Signature Blend' is my favorite, with the 'Passage to Columbia' a little stronger for later in the day .....which agrees to their 'roast meter' that CoffeeAchiever posted above.
Hope this helps,
Jackie.

Ah, Jackie, you sound like a light to medium roast fan like myself --- just reading the 1912 signature blend description had me pegging it for later when it's time to try more pods.

Or do you like the dark as well, as some do?

(I am STILL ! waiting for my Bunn. . . . )

I'm probably going to try some of Betterpods selection before anything else.

You're right Alice2 I do prefer the light to medium roasts. When I first got my Senseo I had samples and orders from alot of the good people around here and because of that I was able to narrow down my tastes. I had lots of flavours and roast strengths in the beginning...now I rarely have a flavoured coffee and I found I was shying away from the darker roasts. I was accumulating too many pods from all over and decided to stick with one supplier - Playfair is convienient for me - and the coffee is as good, if not better, than some of the more expensive I tried in the beginning.

Well, you're a great salesman --er!-- sales Lady, as I'm really curious to try them out now.

I have spent so much money on coffee and coffee makers here it is really crazy. I have to settle down to an economical addiction here! With an occasional splurge, of course . . . . .

In the Higgins & Burke line, the 1912 Signature blend is a lighter coffee. It's along the lines of the Mother Parkers Exclusive blend.

Of course there's always the Mother Parkers brand, Distinctively Yours, which has the 100% Colombian and Cafe roasts.
