Windows7 knows more than you. Did you install it as the administrator or as a user?

I'm sure I dl'd as user, but to make sure, I've uninstalled and about to reinstall.

Go to projects, highlight WCG, click reset.

Well, that 'splains why there are no tasks running, none have been downloaded.

Try this.

Reset the project and immediately go watch and see what messages are sent.

No update to messages. I also double check my preferences to make sure it runs all the time even on batteries (not plugged in)

We're getting closer to the 10 day run time for every day, and if we can get to that by this time next year we will have contributed 50 YEARS of computer research.
