The burrs - are they shaped like flat discs?

Yes, they are black and have three phillips headed screws holding them in. The outer diameter is 1 9/16" with a hole in the center 7/8" in diameter. There are six burrs on each.

I think i have some grinders that are very similar in design and function. If you decide to purchase a conical burr grinder I suspect you will see an improvement in your grind consistency that will also be noticeable as an improvement in the cup.

More Geisha chatter:

I'll have to save a few of these k-cups (which Jay was nice enough to send me a handful of) to brew in the Bunn MC's k-cup drawer when it arrives.

Geisha k-cups are in the house! I'll try one tomorrow morning. BUBD 5/12/13. 17 g. pre-brew, which is "travel mug" strength. I can hear a plastic disc under the filter (will confirm post-brew). This should be fun.

Ok, this ^^^ is a great k-cup. Compared to the usual whole-bean Geisha experience, everything is muted (especially in terms of aroma), but the special characteristics of this variety do come through in the cup. I got honey and chocolate, for sure, along with a nice lime acidity as the cup cooled and that very lightly astringent tea-like finish. Overall, very smooth--goes down easy. Not overroasted, though certainly not as light as a specialty roaster would take the same beans. I'm looking forward to trying this in the Bunn MC's k-cup drawer even more now.

Confirmed the presence of the plastic disc supporting the filter. All of the heavier k-cups have them. Visual aid below:

Another deal, this time as part of a package:

The bonus items are already out of stock, but maybe their status will change before long...
