Club Coffee K-Cup compatible capsules

Postby bltman » Wed May 23, 2012 11:50 am

Received an email from a K-Cup retailer in Canada announcing that a Canadian coffee roaster called Club Coffee has just released K-Cup compatible pods:

http://www.ecscoffee.com/brand-1/club-coffee.html

Based on the pictures, it looks like each pod contains 10 grams of coffee and they seem to use the same packaged format as the Rogers' Family ones.

Anyone eve try this coffee brand before?

I've never heard of them before, even though they've been around for over 100 years in Canada.

I'd especially like to try the Swiss Water Decaf one and see how it compares to Van Houtte's.

I will have to wait until I can find other items to buy to justify the shipping cost.

Darn, I just ordered from them last night. Might have been a neat thing to try.

Club Coffee is one of the largest coffee roasters in Canada, the same size if not bigger than Green Mountain's Canadian operations, they are the kings of private label/contract manufacturing of coffee in Canada.

Just an FYI.

For people that have a Tweed & Hickory nearby or order from them, they are now carrying these Club Coffee K-Cup capsules.

$6.99 for a pack of 12.

^^^ Thanks.

Mod note: changed the last word of the thread title from "pods" to "capsules" because, well, that potential source of confusion drives me nuts. ;)

One thing I like about the Club Coffee packaging compared to the San Francisco Bay OneCup packaging, is that the Club Coffee capsules come in a resealable foil bag that has one of those valves like bags of ground coffee have (a.k.a squeeze 'n sniff).

I now store mine in an 850ml Lock & Lock container (perfect size for 12 capsules/OneCups), so I'm not sure how well storing them in the foil bag would pan out freshness-wise.

I was in my local Bulk Barn yesterday and they had these on the shelves. I purchased the Inca Trail and Venetian Reserve, I was blown away by the quality of coffee these pods produced. I will be heading back to buy the other blends when I am done these! Bulk Barn also has a promotion on if you buy $10 or more of anything in the store you saved $3, so they came out to being a great deal / pod.

Regular price was $6.99 for a bag of 12.
